Rosscarbery Family Festival

 6 - 16th August 2010

 Rosscarbery comes alive with locals and tourists alike, turning out and gathering in the square to enjoy the many street activities and entertaintment which are provided over our ten day community run festival.

Among the many highlights of our festival is the "Rag" at the official opening night on Sun 8th August, open air music provided by Ger Deasy. Participants in the "Rag"  good humourdly re-enact recent events or new's stories, or indeed the 'local news'!!   The Sandcastle/Sand Sculpture Competition at the Warren Strand, with sandcastles as far as the eye can see, is always a memorable day at the beach for everyone.  We are delighted to add to this years festival programme Pig Racing in the square on Monday 9th, and we will also, of course, have our Dogs, Ducks &  Mouse Races which are always highly entertaining!

The Pavement Art for Children was a great success again last year with lots of budding artists turning the footpath into an array of paintings and beautiful colours.  There will be open air music in the square, disco's on the street and a traditional Irish evening of music and dancing along with some Novelty Events for Adults.  You can try your hand at Wellington Throwing, Potato Picking or enter in the slow bicycle race! 

A Floral Display Competition for both business and residential will be running throughout the festival!
